When DAU, a World-Class Corporate University wanted to revamp their annual Hall of Fame Awards ceremony, they looked for someone with vision and the ability to carry it out. In 2017, the Protocol Director contacted me to discuss what could be done to revamp the assembly style event. The only direction given was to “integrate video”. And so, my creative mind went to work – crafting possible options to wow the nearly 600 attendees from across the Department of Defense and the industrial community.
The outcome? A completely video driven ceremony, later touted as The Oscars of DAU. I designed a 75-minute live Awards Show to spotlight the 7 Honorees. For 4 intense months, I steered the project to completion, providing production updates to the Protocol Director and University President. From managing the Production Schedule to designing the lighting and show graphics, this proved to be one of the greatest projects to date. The build-out included 7 short format branded vignettes and 26 branded screens. The live show was production heavy. I managed our crew of 8 and highlights included live streaming to 6 remote locations, and switching between 3 locations for Awards presentations.
